Round cross section of our big Parota

180 cm diameter of our Parota or Enterolobium cyclocarpum, which is the national tree of the Costa Rica. This wood has a density of 550 kg / m3, it is a medium hard wood. The heartwood is light to dark brown, sometimes with a reddish tinge with typical brown stripes. We have added a transparent resin to our large round cut, which blends beautifully and shows a detail of the structure of the Parota in the cracks that formed during the drying process. Our wood are properly dried to 8-12% humidity and thus allow immediate processing.
